Frequently Anticipated Questions
Some questions either that I've been asked or that I anticipate.
- "Can I link to your site?" - Yep! I appreciate when people ask, just so I can check out your site in return, but you don't have to. You can use my button for your links: I recommend saving the image to your own site when setting up the link, just in case anything ever changes directory-wise on my end, but it's up to you.
- "Can you draw [xyz collectable]?" - Usually! I try to work on items that you guys have requested first, but there are the rare cases where I'm just having a tough time with it. I always like getting requests, so feel free to drop any in the Guestbook!
- "I noticed a typo/broken link/broken image. Can I tell you about it?" - Please do! You can either put it in the Guestbook or the site neocities profile. If for some reason you don't want to say it publicly, you can shoot me an ask on tumblr.
- "Can I use your css/html code?" - I don't mind as long as you're not ripping the whole entire stylesheet. You're totally free to frankenstein snippets of my code together with your own stuff. A lot of how I learned to code was by reverse-engineering other websites, tumblr blog themes, and AO3 skins.
- "Do you have any resources for learning html/css?" - For CSS, I really like Mozilla's guide here. This flexbox tutorial is also a lifesaver in organizing your layout, but it takes a little bit of overall CSS background first. This series of AO3 workskin tutorials were also useful for some specific things, like making the character dialogue boxes and navigation menus (like the one at the top of this page!). AO3 workskins are basically just css snippets you can apply to fics, so you can use any of those tutorial codes directly on your site with no problems. I don't have a lot of HTML-specific references since I knew a lot from osmosis and AO3 before, and I usually just google specific things I want to do.
